Fernando Lessa is an Outdoor Educator & Photographer who founded the Urban Salmon Project. His previous projects include those based in the untouched Amazon forest, the unique Brazilian savannah, the tropical rainforest of Brazil, and the Atlantic Ocean. A testament to his success in North America, Fernando has published several books and documentary films on urban salmon and has visited 28 creeks and rivers in Metro Vancouver alone. Fernando is an outdoor storyteller who draws from his experience as a certified diver, background in biology, and Master’s degree in Photography, in order to document freshwater environments. The newest member of the team, Fernando leads experiential learning opportunities for school youth and teachers by conducting urban salmon walks to show that these amazing environments and critical habitats are right in our backyards.
